Rituals Super Shine Lipgloss in Ruby Night

Rituals is a brand that I am very quickly falling for. I could spend ages in their stores, and love their bath and body products, as does Nik (the Hammam Range is great for guys) but I had never tried their make-up despite it all looking gorgeous.  I was sent the Super Shine Lip Gloss in Ruby Night. The line is paraben free and contains natural gemstones-nothing like a bit of bling for you lips eh?

A favourite of the beautiful Funda Onal, this lipgloss is a really pretty sheer berry shade with gorgeous shimmer running through it. Despite looking dark, it is a very wearable shade as it is quite brown toned, so it should suit most skin tones. If you’ve been reading this blog for a while you know I love berry toned lip products, I have quite dark,pigmented lips naturally and baby pink shades just look a bit wrong on me.

The formula of this is lovely, not sticky or gloopy in the slightest, as with most glosses it doesn’t last very long, but it doesn’t claim to. It feels comfortable on the lips, and the shimmer isn’t gritty.

I’ve loved wearing this over the top of lipsticks and it looks gorgeous with MAC’ Amorous, which I pat in as a stain before apply this gloss – see this look here.

There are some beautiful shades in the range and I'll definitely be checking them out when I go to stock up on Shower FOams and Bath Oils!

Swatched: MUA Out There Plumping Lipgloss in Nude

I’m very picky with lipgloss, so when I find one I like it tends to stay in my make-up bag for weeks. MUA’s Out There Lipgloss in Nude is a very wearable translucent nude, I have quite pigmented, blue toned lips so I find this brings some life back to my lips and stops them looking dead. I don’t find it too be gloopy or sticky, and it lasts a decent amount of time before I need to reapply (although it doesn’t survive eating – but I’m yet to find a lip gloss that does) As for the plumping aspect, I haven’t noticed anything other than a tingle on application, but I am happy with the size of my lips and don’t really care for the ‘bee stung’ look.

I really like the packaging, compared to the older MUA glosses, its a lot sleeker and more practical. There’s quite a good shade range, so definitely worth checking out.

These lipglosses are a snip at £2 each and are great if you don’t want to spend a fortune on lipgloss.

17 Mirror Shine Lipstick

I never really paid much attention to 17 until last year when I bought one of their lipsticks in New Black and loved it. Since then I’ve picked up a few bits from the line but the product that has really impressed me is the Mirror Shine Lipsticks. I’m not a bit lover of gloss and the sticky, gloopyness that comes with it, so when I want something other than an opaque lip colour I use these which offer a non sticky veil of colour for your lips.

The colours I have are Beehive, a gorgeous pinky nude, and Peace a muted coral pink. Both colours are sheer, so if you have pigments lips they will show through and the formula reminds me of Mac’s Glaze lipsticks. If you don’t like a lot of colour on your lips but just want to even out your natural lip colour Beehive is a great shade to get.

The longevity isn’t great with these and they won’t last through a big meal but they are so comfortable to wear I don’t mind reapplying, or you could always pop a bit of liner underneath to increase their longevity.
With a lot of higher end brands bringing out their own gloss/lipstick hybrids it’s great to see an affordable version on the high street.

Beauty UK Lip Lust in Cocktail

After hearing a lot of good things about budget brand BeautyUK I decided it was about time I tried something out, after umming and ahhing over the blushers and lip products I settled on a Lip Lust in Cocktail.
I’ve been wearing this a lot since I bought it, it provides sheer colour in a lovely non-sticky formula. For the £2.99 price tag I’m very impressed with this, I’m not a big lover of glosses in general, as I tend to find the only ones that stay are any longer than half an hour are really tacky and sticky ( Mac Lipglass I’m looking at you!), Lip Lust however are not at all sticky and lasted about 2 hours before I wanted to reapply.

They come packaged in a squeeze tube, with a sponge applicator, making on the go application a doddle. It does have a slight synthetic fruity scent, but it fades quickly and isn’t very noticeable
Cocktail is a lovely sheer orange and a perfect introduction for those scared of this seasons trend of an orange pout.
