Lips Red as Blood. Hair Black as Night.

Snow White and The Huntsman Diego Dalla Palma

When you have as much make up as I do, it takes something really special get me really excited. Diego Dalla Palma’s Snow White and the Huntsman Palette has got me weak at the knees.

Diego Dalla Palma are the official cosmetics partner to the Snow White and the Huntsman movie which stars Kristen Stewart as Snow White, and Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen, and is released on June 1st in the UK. I cannot wait for this film to be released, Snow White was the first Disney film I saw as a child, and I can’t wait to see this more sinister adaptation

The palette contains six gorgeous neutrals (three shimmers; Snow, Shield and Mirror Mirror and three mattes; Fairest, Destiny and Battleground) a beautiful (and full size) blood red lipstick in The Wicked Queen and a black eyeliner pencil in Dark Night

I’m already creating looks with this in my head and think it would work equally well for the simple look that Kristen Stewart wears in the film, or a more dramatic evil queen look (which I will no doubt be sporting when I drag Nik to see the movie)

This palette will retail at a very reasonable £25 (it has a £105 value!) and will be available exclusively at Tesco stores and Tesco Direct.

MUA Glam Days Palette

MUA Glam Days Palette

I’ve been eagerly awaiting the arrival of this palette, and it hasn’t disappointed. I picked this up in Superdrug on Friday ( hopefully they will start stocking the Glam Nights palette soon!) and have been playing around with the shades all weekend.

Glam Days contains a great mix of neutrals, with a few pops of colour to make it suitable for work and days-out, or nights if you prefer a more subtle look.

Glam Days and Nights are the first of MUA’s £4.00 palettes to include matte shades, containing 3 matte shades and 5 shimmer. The Immaculate Collection also included some matte shades, but I found they were a little dry, and hard to work with. The 3 matte neutrals in this palette however, are great, they are as creamy and easy to blend as the shimmer shades. It’s great to see high-street matte shades finally being equal in quality to shimmery eye shadows.

MUA Glam Days Swatches

This is another great offering from MUA, I always look forward to they’re new releases and I can’t wait to see what else they’re going to come up with!

MUA is available in selected Superdrug stores and on their website.

NYX Soho Glam: Pictures and Swatches

Here’s some more pictures (and a few swatches) of the NYX Soho Glam Collection that I mentioned here. The quality of the shadows is a bit inconsistent, some are a bit powdery and some are more pigmented than others, but the less pigmented shades can be built up fairly easily. The blushers are of okay quality, the lip products are okay but not great. For £14.99, this would make a great gift, or treat for yourself if you have the patience to work with some of the shades.

NYX Soho Glam Collection is available in selected TK Maxx stores.

MUA Immaculate Collection; A First Look

DSC_2303
I’m a bit later getting this than I was hoping as my local Superdrug wasn’t stocking it so I had to wait for it to be released online. I’ve had a play with a few of the shades, but I will wait to post a review till I have put more of them to use. For now here’s some pictures!

MUA Immaculate Collection

SONY DSC
Another release from MUA that I cannot wait for, their biggest palette yet, containing 24 shades all for the budget-friendly price of £8! It contains a mix of matte and shimmer shades, in neutrals, pastels and more smoky colours. For £8 I will definitely making a trip to Superdrug to pick this up! Expect a review and some looks once I’ve had a chance to try it out.
The Immaculate Collection will be released tomorrow (26th October) will you be picking it up?

MUA Glamour Nights & Days Palettes

SONY DSCSONY DSC

Here’s a sneak peek of MUA’s latest offerings! Due to be released at selected Superdrug’s on the 26th of October, I think these will be another sell out product for the brand, much like their Heaven and Earth Palette. Both palettes have a great range of shades, including for the first time, some matte shades! I really cannot ait to get my hands on these palettes, the Days palette having some gorgeous colours for work or balancing out a bright lip, and the Night’s having some lovely, festive shades some of which are sure to push you outside your comfort zone! I can’t wait to try out the red in the Nights palette, I’m just hoping it isn’t too pink.

Will you be rushing to Superdrug on the 26th to get these?

Fashionista Blush Custom Palette

DSC_2056
As part of the TOWIB event I attended on Saturday, Fashionista were lovely enough to make up one of their Custom Design Palette for us all! The palettes were based around three catwalk looks for SS12 , I chose the Anna Sui inspired Palette which contained 3 blushes and a eyeshadow/highlight.
The colours I received were Juicy Apricot; a beautiful shimmery peach, Butterscotch;a lovely matte pinky nude, Blushing; a really gorgeous matte pinky/fuchsia, Double Take; a white eyeshadow marbled with gold that can also be used as a highlight.

Fashionista Butterscotch Blush

This is how the products look in their single cases, you can keep them like this or you can put them into one of the Custom Design Palettes.

The pans pop out of the cases from the hole on the bottom, I was impressed with how easy this was to do as with some other products like this I usually end up breaking up the shadow!

The empty palettes come in either red or black, and come with a mirror, which is great because it is big enough to see your whole face, without having to move it around. This makes it a great palette to carry with you, as I do sometimes like to top up my blush or amp up my eyeshadow after I go out straight after work and want something a little more dramatic. It would be great if they could bring out a face powder that could go into the palette, as then it would have pretty much all you need to go from day to night, with the exception of a lip product.
From what I’ve seen this is going to be a great brand, with some brilliant and fresh additions to high street make-up. It’s great to see a brand that lets you create your own colour combinations, rather than deciding them for you, something that should have other (unoriginal) high-street brands like Maybelline, Rimmel etc quaking in their boots!  When the rest of the range launches, on the 26th of October, I’ll definitely be going for a bit of a snoop (it’s oh so conveniently near to pay day). When it launches, a full palette will retail at £12, with the eyeshadows/blushes retailing at around £4 and the palettes at £5 individually.
Keep a look out for some FOTD’s using these blushes!
