My Daily Face

There are certain products that I tend to make a grab for everyday when I want to look more polished, awake and less pasty. These are the products that I currently reach for;

Clinique Redness Solutions Daily Protective Base (£15.00) : I like to use this as a moisturiser, primer and SPF, its a great multi-tasking product if you suffer from redness or rosacea. I find it moisturising enough to skip using a separate moisturiser in the morning and the green tint covers and soothes the redness I get in my cheeks.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation and Powder (both £26.50) : I’ve come back to these after flirting with a few high street foundations. I couldn’t find anything that didn’t leave me needing to spend time covering my spots and acne scarring in vats of concealer. I find Double Wear offers brilliant high coverage, without feeling heavy and cakey. The powder is great for setting it and adding a little more coverage in the the middle of the day. The only thing I would say is if your looking for your foundation to give you a dewy look, don’t go with Double Wear, it won’t be what you want. But if you want a high coverage foundation that gives a matte finish and will save you from using concealer, pop to one of the counters and they will usually colour match you and provide you with a sample.

Vivo Baked Bronzer in Sunkissed (£5.00) : A great bronzer/highlighter that gives a lovely glow to the skin. I find I need a small amount of a highlighting product after using my foundation. This imparts enough colour to stop me looking like one of the living dead, but doesn’t leave me orange.

Sleek Blush in Pixie Pink (£4.29) : A gorgeous matte pink that I use to add a pop of colour to the apple of my cheeks.

MUA Heaven and Earth Palette (£4.00) : What more can I say about this palette? It’s full of some great, versatile warm neutrals that really brighten up my tired eye. Full Review.

Benefit Creaseless Cream Eyeshadows (£14.00)  : Great for blending all over the lid as either a base, or on their own. There’s some great shades, with some great everyday neutral shades available. These last all day on my oily lids and mean I can skip the primer, great for time short mornings.

VIVO Brow and Eye Kit (£5.00) : This handy palette contains three matte shades and a mini brow gel. The colours work great on their own or mix together on a brush to get your perfect shade.

Revlon Grow Luscious Plumping Mascara (£9.99) : A great mascara that gives volume and length to my fairly rubbish lashes. I wouldn’t say my lashes have grown massively since using this but I do find my lashes are in a lot better condition, and are maybe a little longer.

The lip products I use change on a weekly basis so I’ve shown some of my favourite ones to wear to work, when I can’t wear anything to loud/bright. MAC Lipglass in Prrr, No7 Lipstick in Chic, a Barry M Lipgloss (can’t remember the name, sorry!) Sleek Pout Paint in Mink and Beauty UK Lip Lust in Cocktail are my current favourites for a tame, my lips but better pout.

What products do you rely on day-to- day? I love these types of posts so if you’ve written one be sure to link it in the comments!

  3. Yay! I like to see other people's HG products for everyday! :D

    I also use EL double wear everyday, cos like you I love the high coverage and the fact that I don't need to blot pretty much at all all day and still look fine! The only pet peeve I have about it is that it seems to accentuate my pores on my nose! I still need to use concealer though to conceal the remaining hyperpigmentation I have though. And I set it with Guerlain Meteorites. It stops it from being too matte as there are some really pearlescent pearls in there (01 Mythic).

    Also love the Benefit creaseless shadows too! I normally smudge a little of that on, and then blend a little bit of a darker shade form my UD naked palette into my crease. Then I line my eyes with Bobbi Brown Long Lasting Gel Eyeliner.

    Blush wise, I usually don't stick to the same one. I try and choose a different one to wear from the day before. It's where I vary my look I guess, because I always line my eyes the same!

    Lips - I normally just pat a little Jill Stuart Lip Balm N on my lips. And I'm ready to go!

  4. I haven't tried the Guerlain Metorites, but really want to! Do you think they're worth the price tag Jian? I don't want to buy them and have it just sitting in my storage :/

  5. Hmmm well I really do like them! Some of the pearls are really quite sparkly, but it doesn't translate onto the face too much. It just makes your face a bit glowy! It does nothing for oil control though I think, but like I said I don't eve need to blot anymore when I use EL doublewear foundation so it's not an issue for me.

    Maybe you could go to the Guerlain counter and ask them to put Teint Rose on you and see how it looks?
